Bands You Shouldn’t Be Wasting Your Time With (The Annotated List)
That being said they’re clearly not for everyone. But try to judge an artist’s music by merit and not by fan base. I’m also guilty of this.
I’m a big Dave Matthews Band fan, as you know, and I think labeling an artist because of their fan base is what you’re doing with them. I agree, about 60-70% of their fans are idiots, but I like the music and I try to not let it upset me too much. I think that because you believe many of the fans are uninteresting and retarded, the music will be uninteresting and retarded as well. Sometimes that’s true, sometimes it’s not. I think if you actually sat down and did some critical listening, you would find at least a few of their songs are complex, interesting, moving, and fun.
